Indoor Soccer

Went to support my dear friends, Mary and Andy, at their indoor soccer game. They have a blast playing in a YMCA league. My photography friend, Debu, captured the action with me! Here's a collection of some of our favorite shots. Enjoy!

Mary came and visited us during half time

While we were shooting the game action, one of the youngest Y members kept visiting. Ivan was an absolute doll. I asked his Mom if she minded me taking a photo of him, and she said go for it so I did:) Well as I got a shot of the lil guy, he wanted in on the action.
Ivan: "Can I take one of you?"
Me: "Ah...  this is an expensive toy. I'll get one of you, but I can't give it to you." [trying to be as polite and amicable as possible]
Ivan: "Come on, I want to take YOU." [feeling his persistence rising...]
Me: "That's not a good idea. This is would be REALLY heavy for you too."
Ivan: "I got it. I'm STRONG." [he stubbornly puts his hands on his hips and gives me the eyebrow and smirk... hence the picture below!]

Friendly competitors... Shaking hands at the end of the game

Great times capturing the fast paced game, while enjoying the wonderful company of my photography friend and lil Y member. Here's to Cherishing the Little with friends and hobbies we enjoy.

Mr. & Mrs. Fitzsimmons

This weekend I was blessed to experience Amelia and Michael's wedding. To start off, I'll give a little background on how I know the perfect couple...

Amelia was my first college roommate in Tampa. We first met over email (before the days of Facebook) and immediately knew she would be a driven, respectful, and caring roommate.

DRIVEN
Although in different majors, we both worked diligently to achieve high marks and had our dorky habits like writing study notes on a whiteboard in the bathroom wall or above our bunk beds. As I heard one of the maids of honor, Laura, describe admiring Amelia for her driven and organized nature, I chuckled as I witnessed it first hand. I'll never forget the one honors class we took together on the politics of the UK. We strolled into class the first day, and realized that the majority of the students were  upper classmen. The professor was a walking textbook and spoke about a million words per minute. We walked out and worried that we were in over our heads. Realizing that we NEEDED to complete the class to go on the corresponding study tour trip to England, Ireland, and Northern Ireland, we promised to succeed together. Both taking copious notes, debriefing them, and studying our tails off, we passed the class with flying colors! Then, we experienced UK!
Regardless of the path Amelia chooses, I know her driven work ethic will lead her to success.

RESPECTFUL & CARING
We all have heard those HORROR roommates stories, well Amelia was one of the most respectful and caring roommates and friends I could ask for. From the start, Amelia would be conscientious about asking if something bothered me. Combined with her respectfulness, she was immediately a true friend who would automatically help in times of need.
Amelia will be a caring and comfortable wife to Michael.

The years went on and we had the typical roomie talks... Discussing important stuff like "Who would get married first?" and "What type of guy would each end up with?" Oh girls! :)

Well, all I can say, is that Amelia found her perfect match. Her and Michael's love shines through and was felt by all at their intimate wedding in Charlottesville, Virginia. Here are a few of my favorite photographs... Enjoy!

First Snow

We finally got our first snow of the year in North Carolina! I woke up to the beautiful golden sun illuminating the white stuff. Nature's beauty continuously amazes me.

The beautiful glow coming in the sliding door made for great lighting.

Castle McCulloch

Looking to travel back in time? My photography friend and I explored the majestic Castle McCulloch in Jamestown, North Carolina. Originally a gold mining mill built in 1832, it then served as a makeshift hospital for soldiers during the Civil War. Now you can enjoy the Castle grounds for a casual stroll, gold panning, public festivals, or even a majestic wedding.

Here's a compilation of shots taken by my friend and I.

The Castle has a legitimate moat. Love the chain "railings" that lead to the ornate doors. I caught this angle...

And, Debu got this one!

What a dedicated photographer! (Debu's shot)

The sun came out to play. Beautiful lighting! Great shot Debu.

Looks warmer than it was!

Wonderful time shooting with Debu and sharing our favorite shots with you! Hope you enjoyed. I would be honored if you became a Follower and provided any feedback.
