Two Maine Lighthouses

80 degrees in Maine? Even more reason to get outdoors and enjoy a sliver of all the outdoor activity/attraction options. We explored one of the 3 L's that Maine is known for- Lighthouses! (I recently read that in a tourist magazine. Can you guess what the other 2 L's refer to? Lobsters and L.L. Bean.)

We visited two lighthouses that are a hop, skip and jump away from each other. "Bug Light" was the first one.

I always love seeing people out and about - they were savoring the beautiful summer-like weather as well! Some were relaxing on the benches, while others animating the sky with their kites.

I've never seen a kite as big as the colorful, spiky blob in the background!

Interesting textures...

Feels like summer... things starting to bloom, and beautifully!

Another angle of "Bug Light."

And now folks, the second lighthouse, Spring Light.

The forts in the distance.

Maybe headed to get some of that other L, Lobster, ha.

Up close of Spring Light. Love that it's still supporting Christmas tree lights!

Distant view of another lighthouse (one of the most photographed ones). Can you guess it? Portland Head Light. Will be visiting you very soon. Can't wait!

Great day getting outside and Cherishing the Little. Thanks so much for journeying with me through exploring my post.

Castle McCulloch

Looking to travel back in time? My photography friend and I explored the majestic Castle McCulloch in Jamestown, North Carolina. Originally a gold mining mill built in 1832, it then served as a makeshift hospital for soldiers during the Civil War. Now you can enjoy the Castle grounds for a casual stroll, gold panning, public festivals, or even a majestic wedding.

Here's a compilation of shots taken by my friend and I.

The Castle has a legitimate moat. Love the chain "railings" that lead to the ornate doors. I caught this angle...

And, Debu got this one!

Photographer in action. Cross at your own risk.

What a dedicated photographer! (Debu's shot)

My close up of the light.

Debu looking for his next photo opportunity.

The sun came out to play. Beautiful lighting! Great shot Debu.

Looks warmer than it was!

Debu in action! LOVE this shot.

Wonderful time shooting with Debu and sharing our favorite shots with you! Hope you enjoyed. I would be honored if you became a Follower and provided any feedback.

Amelia the Bachelorette

DC for Amelia's Bachelorette weekend! Great times and kind of surreal... Amelia was my first college roommate. We met via email, spilling our "likes and dislikes" prior to classes starting (when you could only use Facebook if you had a college email address). We immediately hit it off and shared wonderful memories throughout college.

It's surreal to see the college girl talks come to fruition, and beyond special to be a part of her love story... We met in DC to celebrate her last times as a Bachelorette.
